    New Home Base

Would love to try the new one, but with a DFX and a E Trac under my belt (not to mention extra coils too), I'll have to wait for the reviews to come in. But those wireless headphones are a Godsend.

Went out and got another copper!

Went out with a buddy of mine and we went too far north. Just one town further than the snow melt. Still had some large sections with 6" of snow. We should have gone south:rofl: But some parts were ok and I did manage to finally find a copper that I could read:clapping: Most of mine this year...

    Got out today

It was a buckle kind of day. I didn't find any coppers, but my friend found 3. So now we are tied at 5 each in our race for the most coppers.:twodetecting: But the other stuff was plentiful! About 65 degrees out today, picture perfect (except for those pesky ticks). HH everyone.

HELP - anyone know their Indian varieties???

A while ago I posted an 1864 Indian head in great shape, that I had found. It later turned out to be the rarer "L" variety. So now my monthly detector meeting is coming around, and I know that I will have to teach everyone how to find this small "L" on the Indian. So I get a real good magnifying...

Hunt with E Trac and 61 degree weather.

Had to get out and try my repaired E Trac. It did pretty good. Went out with a friend (Dan) and he did pretty good too, but that's his story to tell! I found that with the E Trac you really need to crank the sensitivity to get good depth. I finally got a brass target at about 9". The 1803 Draped...

    Haven't posted in a while

Have been out a couple of times, but have not found the usual old coins I'm used to finding. This is the better of 2 days hunting. Went looking for some cellar holes a hunter told me about, but could not locate them. Not bad finds, but all from around 1900 and up. The exercise was great...

Quick little hunt - Nice Indian Head

Went out on Sunday with my friend Dan and we found three cellar holes. Two were new ones to us, but unfortunately were not new to other people:thumbdown: They were all hit very hard. My friend managed a bunch of buttons and other relics, but no coins. I got a lot less targets but got a nice...

    Saturday's wet hunt

Had to get out, (had those detector blues), so I hit my usual park. But it was soon invaded by the construction workers!!! I guess they work on Saturdays and in the rain! I was banished to the outskirts and so it turned into a mostly clad hunt. Got soaked (the machine wrapped tight) but I...

Went hunting virgin territory - need tractor trailer for my finds

Went out with my friend Dan and we had a good time. As for the never hunted site????? Ummmmmmm hunted to death!!!. :rofl:I had a good friend show us two sites and we hit a third later. All the sites were hunted (including 2 right in people's back yard!!). Had a great day, scored some nice finds...

Just some tidbits from the other day

Went to a heavily hunted cellar hole and got a little bit. Went with a couple of friends, Dan and John and we had some fun. Going out to a virgin site (year right ) tomorrow. Will post those finds as soon as the tractor trailer bring the loot in:detecting: See ya.

Went E Treking on Saturday (forgot to post it here)

Did another marathon 12+ hour hunt at my Barber place. Silver is getting harder to come by but I did great. Lots of different stuff here. A lot of newer stuff along with some good old stuff. A real nice silver ID bracelet from around 1900, and an identification tag that you either made for fun...

    Last two hunts

Went colonial hunting with the E trac (last time before it gets fixed) and hit a park with the DFX (hoping for some silver - NOT!). But had a good time. Colonial hunting is slim pickings, and neither of us got any coins. The park produced coins, but mostly wheats in the 40's and 50's. So the...

    ET finally bit the dust:cry:

Been having issues with ET and was hoping to make it until the winter sets in before I send her in. Not gonna happen. Already I have had the machine turn itself on, again and again, if I bump something. Also did a over voltage shut down on me while I was detecting with the rechargeables in it...

    Bottle info please -Picnic flask???

Found this one a while back and was wondering if it is a picnic flask? Wine or whiskey? Country of origin? And value if any? The front says VINOL, the bottom says private mould, patented April 19, 1898. Thanks!

Took the DFX out before it divorces me!!

Been using the E Trac so much that the DFX was getting lonely, and a little bit ticked off. So I took it out to a field some friends had permission to do. It was easy digging and relaxing! Managed 2 coppers that I thought were a Large Cent and a British copper. But after cleaning them it all...

Here's my hunt with my buddy ET

Short hunt with the E Trac, about 2 hours. Nothing deeper than 5", but a good hunt at my favorite park. Remember bulldozers are your friends!!!:bouncy: HH.

    Saturday's Hunt - E Trac country!!

I have had three separate glitches happen to me on Saturday's hunt! First the machine would turn itself on again (and do it's little song) when I bumped a root or rock. Doesn't have to be a hard hit. Then in the middle of hunting, it did a excessive voltage, auto shut down. I was hunting with...
