I'm going back in time instead of moving forward

I have been detecting for over 30 years and man oh man how detectors and things detecting related has changed. I have tried a lot of the newest and greatest detectors on the market currently but I always end up going back to what I felt like worked for me and I had confidence in while using it...

    Vista X Disc

The ground minerals play havoc on all of the detectors I've used. The round pull tabs are disc'd out but when they are 6" deep or deeper they sound great. I've learned to just dig them out and move on. At least I know I'm not going to miss a deep coin.

    The Old SE Is Sick

It's in the coil connector that you hook the coils up to I'd take a little circuit board cleaner to it

Vista X and hunting thick beds of nails?

What is your guys favorite coil to use in old iron infested home sites? I have the XS octagon coil but I'm thinking about a smaller coil or even the 8" concentric coil.

My Photo Of What I need on a 1266X

Richard I've never seen a 1266x with the battery compartment in the control box. It's always been underneath the arm rest. Can you post more pictures of the detector controls and of the detector assembled?

    11” coil bs 6” coil

Yeah they are both pretty well exact on ID numbers from my experience using both

    11” coil bs 6” coil

Well I'm going to put it this way I don't feel like I am missing anything that the 11" would have gotten. But in my Georgia red clay the sinkage rate isn't to bad. They both pick up small targets quiet well.

    11” coil bs 6” coil

Mainly what I have experienced is separation improvement and less ground coverage using the 6" coil over the 11". The 6" goes extremely deep for its size. In clean ground I use the 11" in iron infested sites I use the 6". Another benefit of the 6" over the 11 " is the weight.

The Legend has made my mind up!!

Jim I look forward to reading your thoughts and experiences with it. It's a awesome detector. Nokta/Makro know customer service and they listen and give us what we want and need to get the treasure we are hunting for. I'm looking forward to getting the Legend out in the Civil War relic woods...

The Legend has made my mind up!!

I have finally found the one and only detector for myself and the Legend is it. I'm going to be selling my Deus 1 and Minelab Vanquish 540 pro pack off. I don't see any need in keeping them in the closet. Don't get me wrong those 2 detectors are awesome machines but the Legend is finding stuff...

    Poll For Legend Users

Mine failed at speaker volume 1. Mine failed after I went from version 1.05 to version 1.08. Coincidental I'm guessing it was. I waited a couple of weeks before sending mine in due to having a beach trip coming up. After I got back I sent it in on a Friday and had it back before the following...

    Legends have defective speakers

I would think that it should of had shipping insurance on it. If not the dealer should take care of you on the replacement. If I sold something to someone and shipped it with out insurance it would be my fault if it got damaged for not insuring it Not the manufacturers fault. I believe I would...

    Legends have defective speakers

I ain't worried about the speaker really I don't use a detector without headphones and 20 bucks ain't going to break my wallet and you can purchase shipping insurance. Do you own a Legend? Going by your username it almost makes me wonder if you aren't on here trying to stir up business for other...

    Legends have defective speakers

They have a repair service in the states so the shipping cost isn't that bad. They pay for the return shipping cost. And the turn around time was less than a week.

    Legends have defective speakers

My speaker went out and I sent it in and I haven't had anymore issues. But I use my headphones 98% of the time. If it quits working again I know that I won't have any issues with getting it repaired due to Makro Nokta taking care of its customers wants and needs.
