    F75 6.5" coil vs 5" DD coil?

I am going to order an F75 next week, from where I don't know yet. Also, I will order a small coil for it. I have seen advertised a 6.5" coil and 5" DD coil? Why are there two small coils so close in size? Advantages vs disadvantages? Thank you for your time. Cliffhanger

Found near and old RR line.

I found this thing, that I hope is a cannon ball, very close to one of the oldest railroad lines in the USA, between Sacramento and Roseville Ca. It is about 3" in diameter and weighs about 6 #. Any ideas as to what it is? I'm thinking a bearing from a railway car but hoping for something more...

    44k ?

Found a ring today with the F2 that hits on NICKEL and 33. I'm not on the home PC so I can't send a photo yet. There is a what looks to be a small makers mark that I can't make out and away from it is 44k. What the heck does that mean? The ring has a red stone and what seem to be religious...

    F2 find. What is it?

Found this item with my F2 in popular city park at 3 - 4" deep. It jumps from ZINC to DIME. It is very light weight and seems to be hollow. Probably part of, or a toy. This has happened before when I thought I'd found something from the far reaches of outer space. Every 9 year old kid knew what...

    Name that detector.

A couple of months ago I was in a park I often hunt when I spotted a gentlman who I'd never seen before. He too was detecting. I approached and introduced myself. I told him about the large metal detecting club we have in the area and gave him one of our cards with the website of the club on it...

    F2 notch question

It is easy to notch out iron on the F2. Sometimes it's easy to notch out iron and tabs. At other times it seems impossible. Someone must know the correct sequence of Dis + - and notch to disc out or notch out iron and tabs both. Thanks CliffHanger

Question about detectors before taking them into the water.

Have had land detectors for years. I've decided to get a water detector for fresh water hunting. Probably a Tiger Shark. Is there anything I should do to it before I take it into the water? Like silicone or Vassalage anywhere? The current is going to be swift in some locations and the water very...
