Saturday Finds...

My hunting buddy Dan and I hit a couple fields Saturday. The first one was unusually quiet but Dan pulled out a nice button and other assorted relics - I found one small button. The next field was unusually trashy. I found a token (both sides shown) right off the bat then we only found a few...

    Hiding amongst the trash...

Yep, they were all right next to trash of some sort. The half was from a torn up alley/parking lot - tons of iron and junk. The rest came from an old school house site. One IH only had a tiny good signal one way and totally nulled at 90

Took a detecting day off work...

For a while I thought I was only going to find CW store cards! Ended up with four (fronts and backs shown). Three of them are from Dowagiac MI can't read the fourth. I was hunting about ten miles or so from Dowagiac. I had permission to hunt two bean fields that had old residences way back...

    Is this Civil War?

I found this at an old home site. Also found an 1865 Indian Head cent and some relics that I gave to the owner. He let me keep this. It says E Pluribus Unum on the ribbon. Anybody know if this is part of the Civil War get-up or what? Thanks and HH - Robin

    Die crack in 2

I got to looking at the two cent I found Monday and it looks like there is a die crack error on there. Check it out - off the right ribbon at the bottom. Anybody know if this increases the value much? Thanks - Robin

    Weekend Finds

I managed to get out twice this long weekend. Super weather and found stuff! I hunted two old residences that had both been hunted by other guys. Yesterday the farmer said he has had 7 or 8 guys metal detect over the years. Odd, I found 5 IH and 7 wheats in a strip between his iron fence and the...

    One of the best...

...days hunting, hunting buddy, large cent - just an all around good day. We started in the back of a pasture with rolling hills overlooking a small pond(thanks Neal). We even had shade for the first couple hours. I found the Canadian LC the eagle button and the CW tokens. Then off to finish a...

    Sunday finds part 2

Hello, I had a fun day detecting with Neal, great weather, and good prospects, plus it is always fun to hunt with a buddy. We asked at three places and got permission at two, Neal had a yard lined up and the owner kept finding us more spots! Here is my take for the day. The IHs didn't scan...

    Finally out digging again...

It has been so hot and dry that I have been fishing instead of detecting. I could not stand it anymore and did some woods hunting. Ended up with these and one wheatback. The Tootsie is a Jaguar! Best of luck to all and HH - Robin

Explorer II acting up a bit...

Anybody else have this happen? When I start the machine up the display is in the "Expanded View" (smart find is as big as the whole screen). I never use this view. It happens every time I turn it on. All the other settings are ok - as I last used. I just hit detect about four times and return to...

    CBill, Guvner help me out...

I will probably get over it but so far no... I keep clicking on people's names instead of their subject. The other night I did it like three times in a row; click on the name - realize it, go back - click on the name... Maybe it is because I am using a Macintosh or something but the name is much...

WooHoo!!! Don't get one of these every day!

Seated Quarter! It came out of a previously hunted yard (by other guys) that was very quiet. It was down around eight inches and rang in nice and clear although weak. I was shocked when it fell out of the plug into the hole. I was using...

    Tried out the WOT/Swingy Thingy...

I took the WOT and Swingy Thingy to a park that is pretty much hunted out. I have found coins there in the 10-11" range with the stock coil. I was hoping that there was a blanket of coins at the 12" range that the WOT would snarf up. Well, no such luck - I did dig a 7" 1895 Indian head that...

    New forum suggestions...

The new forum seems to be working great and looks great too. I just have a couple suggestions that maybe some of you agree with. Is there a preference somewhere that fixes these or is it just my setup? Personaly I like the posts to be in the order they were posted. For me it makes it easier to...

    After work hunt...

My buddy Dan got us into an old farm house. We did pretty good with each of us getting a handful of wheats, Dan got a merc and I found these two IHs. Very sandy with the wheats almost out of range of the Sun Ray X-8" coil. I think the older stuff must have sunk out of range. Maybe I will try the...
