Went out for a short hunt tonight at an early home site (1877 platt). Just received a new toy for Valentines day, a M9 coil for the Manticore. Tonight was actually my second outing with the M9, I wanted to see if I could replicate my 1st very successful hunt, and it did not disappoint. Both sites have been pounded by me for years with basically no significant finds as of late. Tonight produced a dozen nonferrous targets in about an hour of hunting, pretty much the same results as the first. Most finds came from the heavy iron infested part of the sites. No adjustments were made to the machine, I would say my sweep speed was a bit slower.
I am not selling anything here, but I am seeing a significant improvement in finds and the machine is functioning rather well.
There were 2 square nails in the hole with the shield Nickle that was about 6 inches deep.

Minelab needs to offer different manticore packages with what coil you want be nice but I doubt it will happen.

Exactly, I’ve been saying this since most of the companies started putting 11” coils on everything. Guessing because they want reviews that say their detectors are deep. Surprised that the M11 (11”) on the manticore isn’t bad to swing compared to other 11” coils. Maybe it’s the balance? I still want the lightest coil and 9” is a perfect compromise between big and small. Also I don’t like changing coils.

Congrat's. It sounds like you, the manicure, and that new 9' coil are going to be a killer team. We'll Done. You said something about red clay? You aren't from Georgia are you?
