Whites Treasure Pro on “OVERLOAD”

Trout Hunter

New member
I have a Whites Treasure pro detector that goes into OVERLOAD mode every time I turn it on. Can someone please help me get the detector back to normal operation. Thanks everyone.

Jack

If getting the overload you do have it away from any metal, if on a table or bench can cause this. Another thing I do is disconnect the coil from the control housing and see if it quiets down, if it does I think you have a bad coil or like it was said something is in the coil cover, if it dont the control box may have a problem with it .
I hope it is a easy fix and if you have another coil for this detector I would try that too.

Rick

You probably already did a reset. Next check your coil.
Mr. Muddy Mo. I disconnected the coil wire from the control box and the overload message stopped. Three questions: how does one “reset” the detector and how do you check the coil. Someone posted to take the cover off the coil and clean it. I do not see an easy way to take the cover off the coil - please explain. You also posted you have a good coil for sale if I can not fix mine. Jack

Rick: I took your advice and removed the cover on the coil and wiped it down. Now it works. Thanks Jack

The covers are friction fit. Maybe warming it up (in the sunlight) will help?
Press options. Scroll to reset and select. I don’t know for sure if it does a hard reset or only resets your adjustments but it’s worth a try.
