Hour hunt with the Bandido ii Umax

We have had some cold weather the last couple of weeks and I went out detecting last Saturday morning with the temperature at 29 degrees Faranheit and it was freezing cold with a cold wind blowing. I stayed out for about 4 hours. I don't know what I was thinking. I ended up getting sick from it even though I was bundled up warm. Fast forward to today. It was 58 degrees Faranheit and even though I only had an hour to hunt but took advantage of the opporunity. The detector of choice on this hunt was the Bandido ii Umax and it did an amazing job. In a hours time in an area I have hit pretty hard with multiple detectors I found 1 quarter, 1 dime, 2 nickels, and a good number of pennies. I dug a good number of trash items too. I was impressed at the depth I was getting. Some targets were so deep that I left them to be recovered on another day when the hole was deeper than the length of the pinpointer. These deeper holes were in the mulch areas so they could easily be filled in. I have read in some posts that Tesoros are not very deep machines. I am fine with digging 7-9" at school or park and do not want to be digging much deeper than that in these areas. People are a little bit less annoyed with you when they see you are only using a large screw driver to dig with and that your holes are only the size of an aerator plug. I can easily push the sides of this hole together and move on leaving no trace that I was ever there. It was a wonderful day to get out and detect. I hope the good weather holds up and I can do some more detecting next week. I hope all you other winter loving detectorists that don't hang up your gear during this time of year have some good weather and can get out and hunt. I am a little envious of you guys and gals that are in Arizona, New Mexico, Florida, Texas and other warm areas that can hunt whenever you like without worrying about the weather. I like the cold weather too because it makes for less people out and about and quiet hunting. Good luck and HH.
