How many hours would you guess this coil has been used.

I bought this coil second hand off flea bay. Seller claims the coil has had little use. My estimate of hours use is about 200 to 300 hours
hours. What do you think, would you class this coil as having little use or not.

I wouldn't go so far as saying it was "abused" but definitely saw a good deal of time over harsh terrain. Abuse kind of requires intent and I have one site that is an old dump with terrain that's very rough and it could produce a similar surface just from a lot of hours of regular use. That ebay description may be a little off the mark but "little use" can mean different things to different people. Did you see pics before you bought?

Definitely used but my covers get scratched quickly in the rocks so it’s hard to say “how many hours” are the edges banged up? I hunt in the rocks but I’m careful my coils look like new except the bottom coil guard they get scratched a lot.
And I use coil bumpers which help protect the edges.

I would almost venture to say its more that 200-300 I have some detectors that I know if I sat and thought about it I probably have 400-500 hours on them because at one time I detected every day they are scuffed pretty good but no where close to that, but I do take care of my detectors when I use them

the coil in your photos looks like they beat the hell out of them

this Coil looks like it had some hard use in some rough areas, many deep scratches . To me it looks like there is no coil cover on first pic and on the second picture look like a cover on it, could be just the way the picture is .
Myself I would say the person that had this coil dragged the coil in some rough terrain to do that much damage on the plate if not used too much, then again he may have bought it used from somebody and he hardly used it and should have been advertising as such. If a person using the serial number on the coil find when it was built would answer a few question. My opinion it was well used in some rough area.

Been stung a few times on buying on the auction site, on a detector I got it was said worked perfect as he tried it out before sending it, no work when I got it and was the battery was corroded bad time and leaked to the point the terminal were gone. He claimed it was perfect and must have happen in shipment from the Post Office. Ordered a stereo receiver and was dead when I got it and when it was checked out the power transmitter was missing completely ad this person said it worked perfectly and the Post Office must have taken it in shipment. As you can see many people want to get rid of a item and will say all kinds of thing just to get rid of it.

I showed it a politician and a used car salesman, they both said it was mint condition, barely used.
I have sent the coil back to the seller now. I find there to be many many con artists selling on e-bay.
Lots of people selling goods that have known defects. It's been nicknamed bay of thieves by many.
Half of the sellers are good the other half are money desperate people. People who are desperate for money
will stoop to the lowest depths for the money. When buying a used coil always check the underside of the coil for signs of heavy use. I have noticed that Xp second hand equipment often has had heavy use. Especially Deus Models. Best buying new with second hand deus parts.

I have had by many. more than one detector come smashed in the post from e bay sellers too. My advice is to stay clear of
e-bay if possible. It's used to unload dodgy electronics by many. Profit making on second hand detectors and coils is also rife.
Selling items is very dicey too. Some buy from cash converters shops and then sell for double the price on the bay..

I don’t see how they gain from it. Fee-pay won’t release the funds until buyer is happy.
I wouldn’t buy used Deus coils because of the batteries. I think some are user replaceable but not certain, if so which ones.

Is there anything compatible with the Deus versus the deus 2 like coils
The Deus 2 coils are not compatible with the Deus 1 or ORX

the ORX and the Deus 1 can share some of the same coils and honestly I am not sure that the Deus 1 and ORX can share all the same coils

I do know that the Deus 1 and ORX can both run the two HF XP coils and all the X35 coils but not sure about the original Deus 1 coils it may depend on the software being ran in the Deus 1 and ORX
