Tesoro Coils

oldkoot

Well-known member
Specifically the Delta (4 Pin Coils)
found a 5 3/4 inch Wide Scan Coil which I know is a DD coil is the wide scan coil worth picking up to use on my Vaquero or Tejon

i do have the 5 3/4 inch concentric already and love that little coil on the Vaquero and the Tejon so I am thinking about picking up the Wide Scan coil also, Also what is the Value of a used wide scan 5 3/4 inch coil

Tough to find Tesoro coils nowadays. Not many giving them up. Get it while you can for a reasonable price !!!

The 5.75 concentric was great! I did have a 5 pin 8” DD that wasn’t worth crap. Not just my opinion, my buddy gave it to me because he thought the same thing.
I do have the 5 3/4 concentric and have been looking for the 8 inch concentric 4 pin Delta coils but thought it would be nice to also have the 5 3/4 wide scan also

I do love the 5 3/4 concentric on the Tejon and the Vaquero

Like Donna stated above, it may be difficult even finding someone to let one go if they have it.
I actually have one myself along with the 5.75” concentric and the 8”x9” stock concentric coil.
It has been a while since I used my Vaquero, but I have no plans to get rid of it or any coils for it.
My soil is pretty mineralized which is the reason I bought the small DD coil.
As far as I am concerned it does well.
I like that it gives a double beep over very shallow targets as is common with DD coils.. at least the ones I have used.
Later on I can show you air test results between both small coils if you are interested.

Tesoro coils are getting tougher and tougher to find. I don’t plan on getting rid of any of my Tesoro coils that I have, especially any of the concentric coils I have. I do have both the 7” concentric and 7” wide scan 5-pin coils. I really like both of these coils. I posted on the accessory classifieds on here that I wanted to buy some smaller Tesoro coils, specifically the 5 pin 4” or 5.75” coils and there were no replies or comments to my post. People are hanging onto their Tesoros and Tesoro coils and I don’t blame them. If anyone has 5 pin coils they are willing to part with I might be interested in buying them depending on what they are. I did see a 10” round 5 pin coil up for sale that I have thought about buying. Has anyone ever used the older style 10” round coil?

I just picked up a troy Shadow 7 inch concentric which is for a Troy Shadow X2 metal detector, that will work on my Bandido 2 Umax its a 5 pin coil and I also have a 7 Inch wide scan 5 pin and a 8 inch 5 pin wide scan coil coming with the 7 inch Shadow coil, I have to much time on my hands right now just sitting here by my wife's side, all I do is set here doing internet searches for coils and detectors I want to pick up and add to my collection of beep and digs, and yes I use all my detectors in my collection when I can go out and detect, they will be there when I finally can get out and start detecting again which I am going to need once I can get free time

Nice find., congrats
when I come across these Tesoro Coils for sale I grab them because they are becoming as scarce as teeth in a chicken so I grab them when I find them, I like having coil options for my detectors

It is a dangerous game to have time to search the internet and buy more coils and more detectors. I have a decision to make of my own to acquire more coils for the detectors I already have or to acquire more detectors. I already have one family member who is holding a Lobo ST for me to buy once I have the money. I also have another family member who has talked to me to see if I would be interested in buying their Tejon. I recently bought 2 detectors so I have to earn the money or sell some existing detectors to pay for these 2 detectors. I also found a 5-pin 10.5” concentric coil I would like to buy and I am working through the purchase process on it. There are so many things i would like to buy but I have got to reign it in some. Man this hobby is fun and addicting and i get exercise . Also, it is the only hobby i have ever had that pays you back some of what you have spent. I know you have an arsenal of beep and dig detectors and coils but it is always fun to have more. I can’t wait for you to get out to swing that Bandido ii Umax. The 7” concentric coil on that detector and the Eldorado Umax are killer in many different sites, especially in trashy sites. I love using the 7” concentric coils. Good luck and HH.

We have chatted in PM's so you know my situation

Dont know if you have ever used a Tejon or not but if you can get the Tejon for a good price jump on it, I have a Tejon, Vaquero and the Deep Tech Vista X the Vista X and the Tejon are very similar I like both the Tejon and the Vista X but I like the Tejon more another detector I own that I like even more than the Tejon is the Troy Shadow X5 if you ever run across a Shadow X5 jump on it also you will not regret it

Its hard for me to pass these detectors up when I find great deals on them

I also just acquired a Bandido 2 Umax which I have yet to even swing

I also know where there is another Bandido 2 Umax here in Arizona that if I could get away I would take a drive and pick it up the people that have it are wanting $100 for it but they will not ship it to me or anyone else they just keep lowering their price down on it, its about 300 miles from where I live

I would enjoy seeing anything Tesoro.
So few videos made.

I know what you mean about finding it difficult to pass up great deals on detectors. I find that there are many detectors out there I would like to buy. That is too bad about the other Bandido ii. So crazy that they won’t ship it to you and that they keep lowering the price. I will look out for a Troy Shadow X5. Ir sounds like a great detector and it is awesome that the Tesoro coils and the X5 coils can be used on Troy and Tesoro detectors. I would love to have a Tejon. I have been watching for Tesoro detectors to come up for sale and also Tesoro coils. I really wish Tesoro had stayed in business. I would buy a 3rd Compadre if I could right now. I found an older Compadre with the 7” coil for $140. If you can find one with the 7” coil it is worth every penny you would spend on it. You will have to put a post on here about your first hunt with it when you get to go out again.

only the X2 coils can be used on some of the Tesoro detectors

Good to know. I will keep my eye out for an X2 or an X5.
