Consecutive dates

Went to a place I've hunted many times. Dug three coins in three plugs. First the 1916S, then the 1917 and then the 1918 in order.
What's the odds of that?

After reading and responding to your post, I seemed to recall finding three consecutive dated coins few years ago.
I finally took a look in my log book and sure enough, I found three Mercury dimes at a local park back in 2021…1935, 1836, and a 1937.
That was a first for me.
I would not want to try to figure the odds on either of our finds!

Kind of interesting.

Because the dimes show a lot of wear, they were probably lost after after many years of use.
That would make the odds even higher.
Correct?
