Need help on research.

I bought this 1850 officer staff sword made by Justice in Phil. Like anybody I checked for engraving . I found this name Wank no first name . Also his rank first lieutenant and a number not sure on it. I’ve done a lot of research but all the soldiers by that name were privets or sergeant . If anyone has more avenues on research maybe you can take a look.

That name seems to be mainly from Pennsylvania in that time.

That’s what I found too . There was at least one solider from the south with that name. I’ve had this sword for about 25 years got it from Wayne Aldridge in Richmond some on the forum may know him

There is way more than I searched for. There is 15 in union and one or two in the confederate.

Can’t help with the sword, but I do know Wayne Aldridge… I bought my first detector from him in 2006.
Have visited with him at his shop several times since.

I don't know Wayne personally, but I have visited his shop a few times when he was selling detectors and relics. I still have the Nautilus 2b that I purchased from him in the middle 90's.
