Seems like 90% of these SLQ you can't read the date.

I think so too now .. the 1916 did not have the three stars below the eagle on the back… still a great find though!!

I was only 2 to 3 inches down in rock hard ground standing straight up. Was sounding and reading like a dime. The 6 is clear when zoomed and can barely make out a 2 no sign of the 1 or 9.
I use an app that uses AI to identify and value coins. I didn’t know about the 3 stars thanks for the info.I think so too now .. the 1916 did not have the three stars below the eagle on the back… still a great find though!!

The three stars means it a Type ll. Type l (no stars on the back ) 1916 and some of 1917 had a bare breasted Lady Liberty but too many complained so they put the chain mail across her chest. Either way great save and congrats on the find. Mark

I was using the nokta triple score, I was out on state land along a river that was heavily logged around turn of the century and replanted in the 30’s.

Nice find. Definitely a 1926 because of the stars on the reverse. Those SLQs are always great to find. I pulled the same year SLQ a couple of weeks ago with similar wear.
