One nickel at a time ends up being a herd of buffalo 🦬

Sure you would have… just dig the tabs too!!🤭

They would be a casualty of too much trash 🤭🤣😂

I think my best was 4 Buffs in one hunt. You seem to be at it a lot longer then me, only started in 2015 and till I got an Etrac the nickels seem to elude me. For the first 2 years it seemed like the Buff was my white whale. When I got the 800 in 18 nickels were all I dug on some hunts. Over 450 one year, Buffs Vs, a worn shield and a bunch of war nickels. What state do you hunt in ? I'm in Pa. and it seems mid-tones in alot of places is all thats left. Good luck. Mark
Mark, sounds like you have come I with a good setting for nickels..
I have seen folks set nickels to read high tones and also tighten the pattern up… both methods did not appeal to me.
I use the 800 and have had very good results looking for nickels.. my best year was 423… that was the first year I had it!!
I basically use it set from factory, but when looking for nickels, I only focus on those tones and ignore the other tones, unless I get over a quarter ( Jim will get a giggle here 😂).
Like you stated, most of my sites are pretty void of high tones now.., that does make it easier to focus on nickels though.

Agree with you. But lowering the volume on either side of the nickel bin really helps you to pay less attention to the less important while making the mid-tones a no doubt , need to investigate this signal. Good luck. Mark
