I was looking at the lost and found this morning and someone posted about losing a ring while playing softball at a local park last night.
I replied asking if anyone had responded yet and the owner said I was the first and only reply so far.
I grabbed my things and after getting a haircut and making a few stops, she called the number I provided just as I got to the park.
She told me it would most likely be in a small grass strip next to the ball field where she was warming up, in the area behind home base or the area around the pitcher's mound.
The diamond has already been raked and marked off when I got there, so I had to end up searching the entire diamond.
I did not find it and went to my truck to cool off and get snack and drink since it was about 90 degrees by then.
I then called to ask about where in the grass strip she was and she said she was to the left of a light pole.
I searched for about 20-30 minutes only finding a nickel and then got a nice 11/12 signal on the XTP.
The ring was very thin, so I thought this may be it...I took my pinpointer out and started looking through the grass and low and behold, there was the ring!
I called her and made arrangements to return it to her and she met me after work to get it.
It is 14k white gold and weighed only 1.6 grams.
I actually started losing hope after not finding it in that ball diamond and knew if I had to search in the grass, there would most likely be more trash to deal with, but luckily it all worked out!
I am sure glad I did not have to search that entire outfield for it in the heat!!
Thanks for looking!
