Haven't had the Legend out in 4 or 5 months. Finally got out today for a bit less than 2 hours. $2.16 in clad, a crucifix which I hoped was silver but seemed to shiny (it wasn't), and some kid's cache of buried hot wheels. Got a 47 signal (between dime and quarter) and started digging. About 7 inches down, found my first car. Double checked hole with the pinpointer and still something there. Dug a bit more, next car. Well, this went on for some time and when I finished, came up with a total of 11 cars and 1 plastic traffic cone. Would rather it had been silver dollars, but definitely something different. I don't know how long these had been buried, but shallowest was about 7 inches and the deepest about 12 inches. All in a hole not much bigger around than my fist. Soil turned sandy about 5 inches down, but this was in a grassy area and must have been there for some time since where they were buried there was no disturbance in the grass.

May I suggest you check with a matchbox/tootsie toy/hot wheels guy? If older, and even in rough shape, you might have a collectable that a beginning collector would pay for. I dug an older tootsie toy that was valued at $35 in she shape it was in……..

Me and Hot Wheels...one at a time. Cache? Ten nickels in one hole...one at a time, in a park on the Llano river in Marble Falls, TX.
