I have the legend. It doesn't matter what coil I have on it. When I sweep the coil low to the ground to the right and to the left. At the end of the swing, it sounds off like I hit a target. But nothing is there. If I hold the coil higher off the ground, it stays quiet. It doesn't bother me, but I don't have any other machine that does this.

Maybe loose coil wire.
I usually attach the cool wire to the lower shaft with tape. About a foot straight up.

Sounds like you are running your sensitivity quite high, try backing down your sensitivity a notch or 2.
