My opinion is Garrett Detectors are at the Bottom of the List these days. Just low end Detectors compared to what's out there these days... Garrett has seen their. BEST DAYS.American companies all going DEFUNCT!!! JMHO...

After trying out plenty of Garrett detectors I wouldn't Pay another Nickel for a Garrett Detector!!! They are the Cheap Generic brand
of detectors. JMHO If you're happy Swinging a Garrett have
at it. I'm sure this might Offend some Garrett users but no ill Intentions towards anybody. Use what you Love. Me, my other Detectors blow Garrett's out of the Water... What do you really think the MIGHTY VORTEX will be a game changer????

I am loyal to no one manufacture so lets get that straight rite now, none of us actually know what this Vortex can do yet why because none of us have had one in our hands yet, so your opinion of the Vortex is based on past experience with other Garrett detectors, so you are ASSUMING because of your past experience the Vortex is going to be crap (WE ALL KNOW WHAT ASSUMING ANYTHING)does for the person doing the ASSUMING people ASSUMED the same things about the Legend look where that went a lot of those that did the ASSUMING had to eat their words
had it not been for Garrett and Whites there would not even be a such thing as a metal detector so how you figure they are Generic is beyond me.
Let me Guess you are a Mine Lab Fan Boy which by the way I also own a few Mine Labs they are OK detectors but my current favorite detectors are produced in Bulgaria by Golden Mask and I will tell you for a fact my GM7 and my GM 4WD will blow away pretty much any Mine Lab you want to match up against those two detectors, they will also blow the Legend out of the water also
and yep I am waiting for my Vortex VX9 to be delivered

came out and Attended Andy Sabich's1rst Dues Seminar and I run the 3.2 version. Ran the Explorer XS my first 10 years of
Detecting and I use a Fisher Cz3d Own all kinds of Detectors
and Garrett's but the only Garrett I enjoy using is the GTI 1500.
Just a short list of my detectors (Coinstrike, I.D.Edge, Compass machines (2 Au52's, Gold Scanner Pro and more Compasses),
Cz3d, Ctx 3030, and the list goes on and on. Been on Plenty of Paid hunts also. So I feel I know a little about Detecting. Garrett's
are Toys that work.Maybe back in the day Garrett was Highly rated but by today's Standards Garrett Detectors are TOYS!!!

Here in the uk the garret ace 250 has been responsible for some fantastic finds I myself use Tesoro now I'm not going to everyone how good or bad they are and yes I do have an opinion on what I like and don't like but I'm no going to try and ram it down everybody else's throat...

I didn't ASSUME anything I took a guess at what you might use, I also have tried the deus on the ground I detect both the Deus 1 and the Deus 2 fell short also on the ground I detect, although the Deus 1 actually did a little better than the Deus 2 why because of the mineralization that I deal with every day when I detect the only detectors I have tried that actually sees through the Mineralization on the ground I detect are the Beep and Digs I use and a PI that I also use, and honestly I cannot even tell you why they work as good as they do on the ground I detect they just do, I do have my theories but whether those theories are correct who knows, the detectors that seem to not be able to deal with the heavy mineralization everyone of them have been SMF (Multi Frequency) of one brand or another
Am I saying the Vortex is going to be any better than the other SMF detectors I have used or have owned and used nope not at all but I will not know that until I actually have one in my hands to see what it will do on the ground I detect, the Vortex could very well turn out to be like several other detector I currently own and have used and fall flat on its face again I will not know that until I have a chance to try one if it does fall on its face then I guess I will have another dust collector setting in my detector room, I am hoping that's not the case though
Any word on an actual release date to the "Pre Buy" people on the waiting list?

I spoke to the Dealer I did my Pre Order with and he has no word as of yet when the Vortex will be in his hands, I would not think it will be much longer now but who knows, at some point Garrett will have to say enough is enough for now and get the Vortex into the hands of the dealers so the dealers can get them out to those of us that have Pre Ordered, I have already paid the dealer I pre Ordered through so I am waiting like everyone else
I just hope we do not see a bunch of updating like another manufacture did rite out of the gate, hope Garrett gets it correct from the start, which I believe they will
