So Garrett finally released a new line of detectors to get in the competition so where are the new higher tech Fishers?

I can't figure that crowd out. I'm thinking everything they sell is made in China since almost everything they sell has been cloned by China.
Your are right,1st Texas has done a lot business with the chinese!! The are 120 miles from me and garrett about 150 miles .:(

maybe Garrett's metal detector department is in china staffed by chinese (engineer's?).

Dave j probably doesn't work there anymore. He was instrumental in all there offerings. Parent company doesn't see any value so they are out of it.
Spot on!!! Dave Johnson is no longer involved with Designing
Fisher Detectors. If I remember correctly , I thought I read about him having Health issues a good while back. Fisher has NO--ONE left to Design
or more or less bring anything new to the Tables...
Love my CZ 3d though. Can't go wrong with an Anolouge CZ.
All the Ol time Designers are GONE. Just look at Whites, Tesoro,
Compass(John Earle) one of the Greats, Carl Mooreland etc. etc

No longer believe there will be new flagship for first Texas. Just selling old favorites till it doesn’t anymore.
They’ve been selling their detectors at clearance prices on feebay. That and with no engineers for new machines my guess is they’re getting out of the detecting business.

Probably not enough profit to make it worth while. Loose your top engineer and all goes away. If you can't sell anything new you can't price for profit.
