Guys & gals I got out for a hour or so today to try & learn my new Manticore detector.

It was a learning experience for sure, as I dug lots of aluminum trash. The 2d screen is pretty handy, but tones are king.

Well I did manage to find a 1917S wheat penny & a Lil piece of silver, a 1943 War nickel, along with some newer clad as well.

I can't complain, the Manticore is pretty amazing in the junk patch I was hunting today.

Congrats on your first outing finds. I would expect about the same for the first couple of outings. Whats your first impressions of the Manticore? I will be curious what the battery life is like in between coils.

So far I'm liking the Manticore, especially since ive only used it once.

The machine is a lot easier to navigate the menu & use the machine because of this I believe.

I've used Southern Relic Adventures & Mental Metals, custom ferrous program & it's a vacuum for anything non-ferrous. I was a sensitivity of 18 with the M9 coil & it easily goes 8+" just with them settings.

Truthfully I'm really digging the machine.

Not bad at all for the first time out with it!!
Wheat pennies are getting as scarce as silver coins now.. at least for me.
Nice war nickel..👍👍
Yeah I sure don't find the wheats like I used to. The wheats I find now are usually deep, like 6-8" range.
I should be finding Indians too in my Lil town, but they are few far in between.

I like my wheats thou.

With that said, if did get a wheat penny in change recently and even found one in a small recent coin spill while detecting a local swimming lake about a week ago.
