I am a Treasure Hunter (TH'er) since June 1976. I currently use an XP-DEUS with a 9 inch HF Coil. Most of my TH'ing is for Civil War relics. I am married since July 1979. I am retired from the US Federal Government after a total of 36 Years. I worked the last 19 years at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing in the Washington, DC Facility. I worked in the Office of Acquisition and have several purchases that are my pride and joys. The first large contract I worked with was for the purchase of the Off Line Currency Inspection System (OCIS); this was the equipment that inspected sheets of US Currency as it was being printed for any flaws or imperfections. This inspection was done with an electronic eye camera and captured up to 98+ percent of errors. The Currency sheets at the time were the 32 note sheets so I am sure that the units have been upgraded or replaced to accommodate 50 note sheets that are currently being printed. I also was involved with a replicator machine with allowed currency plate to be reproduced after a single note is cut into the nickle printing plate. This allowed 32 impressions to be made from a single hand cut impression. My Prior Government Service began with me joining the US Army right out of High School. I went delayed entry in October 1972 right after I turned 18. I went to Basic Training at Fort Lenard Wood, Missouri in June 1973. After Finishing Basic Training I went to Advanced Individual Training at Fort Dix, NJ. My Military Occupation Skill (MOS) was 63B, Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic. After finishing my training I was assigned to A Company 34th Signal BN in Ludwigsburg, West Germany. Due to renovation to the building on Krabenloch Kasern, I was in temporary living facilities at Murphy Barracks. These were condemned buildings but were the only buildings available at the time. Oct 1973 to June 1976 Krabenloch was home for me at least for the time that we were not deployed and living in tents out in the woods around Central West Germany. I survived a 5 ton wrecker accident and after almost 50 years finally had to have surgery to repair some damage to my right shoulder. I did a 2nd tour of West Germany in 1977 to 1981. This time I was stationed in Augsburg, Germany in a fixed station signal company, the 534th Signal Company, 69 Signal BN. I was reassigned to one of our out post, Schwabstadl Kasern. This was a German Army facility but was co-assigned with US Army Artillery and US Army Signal Soldiers. My unit was the communications for all of the Nukes that did not exist. All the missiles were loaded onto German Trucks but were all marked 'US Army'. It was all political as the German's said there were no German Nukes on the Site "Q" and the US was able to say that the US did not have any Nukes as they were controlled by the German Army. What a deal and crock it all was! I left Germany in July 1979 went to Jackson, Michigan, and married my Love of my Life and we have been married ever since. We are now both Retired and living the good life!
