    A little unusual post…

I used to volunteer with the birds of prey rescue in Mount Pleasant SC. It was basically a bird hospital. Lead poisoning from buck shot was a big problem.

    China Copy

Doesn’t say anything about being SMF, or being upgradable?

Disappearing Signal Tip for Newbie Beach Hunters

Yep, you are correct, I’ve had the same thing happen many times, especially in dry loose sand.

    I.D.

Looks to me like someone was casting bullets. I’ve seen thinks like that left over after the lead cooled in the ladle. If it’s lead, it’s old because of the white color.

    Whites MX9

I always preferred the MX5 over the MXT so I’m sure the MX9 would have been a winner. Sounds like the manual for the 5 would be real close to how the 9 operates.

Legend Pro Pack plus LG 24 coil

That’s a great deal Woodbutcher. I paid that much just for the detector.

Starting to plan a trip to pan for gold.

You may want to consider joining the GPAA. Gold Prospectors Association of America has claims in many states and areas you can pan and informative events. Www.gold prospectors.org, 800-551-9707. I’ve been a member for years.

Nice haul you have there. Snows pretty much gone around Boise also accept a few norther facing areas above 6,000. Water is running to fast in some lower areas but smaller creeks are looking good. Went up to the old Adelmann mine site above Lucky Peak Reservoir today and got some nice pictures...

Using Beach Mode Md & Mw

The fist thing to try on dry sand is back the sensitivity down until it stops. Then try bumping it up one click and see how it runs. If you are stilling having an issue switch to wet and bring sensitivity up some.

    DFX vs XLT

I believe any V rated coils, such as MX series will work on the DFX.

    Not detecting but still finding!

That’s where a track will stand up on bad soil instead of sink in like rubber tires. Put a bucket on the front and try to use it to pull it forward. Otherwise it’s going to take a tow truck or another machine to get that out. Have you run a detector over that mud?

    Yellow Stuff

There is a limit to depth with even the best and most expensive detectors. Even the Minelab GPZ7000 is only good for a couple of feet or so on large nuggets. I personally can’t see spending 6k for a gold detector. ROI is going to take a while. The new detector should be around 2k. Detectors...
