7" concentric coil is a killer on the Multi Kruzer

MMK w/7" is about the only digital detector I use now. Light, fast, and built to last. Crazy deep for the coil size too.

    Deeptech vs. Tesoro machines?

I've got a Vista Warrior and a Vista X. As well as a Bandido 2 µMax and a Tejon. While the Tesoros are still very good machines, both Deeptechs will beat even the Tejon on depth. Deeptech's separation and recovery speed is as good or better than any detector I've ever used (and that's plenty.)...

Detectors that have stood the test of time.

I still have a red box with the 2.2 chip and a DD and 8" concentric. Made some pretty good (and deep) finds with it over the years. Awful heavy though.

Detectors that have stood the test of time.

Pretty much any Tesoro. Treasure Baron Cointrax. Also (If you can deal with the weight) Compass X-80 or X100.

    My DFX for?

I've got a nice DFX Spectrum E-Series with 9.5 coil. Looking for interesting trades. I can add. Multi Kruzer kind of has my interest. Let me know what you have. Thanks!

Patriot/F70. Does "SL" stand for silver maybe?

I've been running SL since it gives a serious depth increase at lower thresholds while being more quiet than positive threshold in DE. I'm generally about -2 and 50-75 sensitivity. This is the fourth silver (2 rings, 2 coins) on the same set of batteries. Was in a heavily hunted courthouse lawn...

    Eclipse beach hunt

Drove north to Nebraska to see the eclipse. My memory card crashed right at the totality. All I got was the crescent through a plastic filter. Afterwards we parked the MH at Harlan County Lake. While my son and granddaughter went swimming I spent about 20 minutes swinging the beach. All the clad...

I think I found my first meteorite.

In my back yard. I was trying out my new TRX. Got a signal just below a nickel with my LRP. I figured it was a chunk of foil. Pinpointer was screaming but I couldn't find the metal. Turned out to be this. It's definitely not hematite. Fusion crust. Rust and what appears to be nickel flakes...

Did a swap with Old Bobby (Bob Dolan Jr.). He's awesome.

This guy is as good as gold. I've never had an online deal go smoother. Thanks Bob. I'm having fun with the Tesoro.

    Thank you First Texas/BH

There's customer service, then there's Bounty Hunter. I have a Discovery 3300 I purchased at a pawn shop some 8 or 10 years ago. Recently the internal speaker came loose. Still worked. Just rattling around loose inside the case. Besides, I don't use the speaker anyway. But I got tired of the...

Old silver in my back yard: The sequel.

Decided to spend a few minutes in the back yard with my DFX. Found this about 30 feet from where I found a silver spoon a few weeks ago. About the nicest merc I've ever found.

Old silver in my back yard

Fedex says my Treasure Baron returns tomorrow. While waiting I decided to swing my Lone Star since I rarely have. In my back yard. Five minutes in I get a nice signal. This turned up about 4 inches down. Sterling, from 1917-1923. I grew up ten blocks from and have many memories of...

    Roccky Mountain Store (Kansas)

It was a gorgeous 70 degree winter day in Kansas so I decided to visit an 1880's general store site. It's a fairly remote area but the drive was worth it as both the day and the scenery couldn't be prettier. My Treasure Baron is with Keith Wills at East Texas Metal Detectors for its 20 year...

    Ghost town

The town of Rumsey, KS existed from 1883 to 1885 near Evansville, headquarters of the Comanche Cattle Pool. It had a post office and maybe 3 or 4 other buildings. It had never been detected until today. No coins but some cool relics including a C-F-10-82 45-70 casing. Beautiful Kansas winter...
