Tarsacci’s MDT 8000 Flagship Metal Detector is in a class all by itself. The innovative Mixed Domain Technology (MDT) is the perfect all-around detector. It works quietly in difficult terrain where others struggle; obtaining great depth and maintaining target identification. Whether you’re hunting for tiny low conductive targets; silver, platinum, gold jewelry, coins are relics.
This Mixed Domain Technology is a combination of VLF (Very Low Frequency) and Pulse technology; the only detector of its kind at present. It’s unique Salinity Balance feature enables detecting targets in noisy environments like wet sand beaches, mineralized ground and hot rocks. Black Sand Mode improves the performance in specific mineralized grounds like black sand beaches. It also works great in some of the fields that have been fertilized a lot over the years. It has four selectable single frequencies: 6.4 kHz, 9kHz 12kHz and 18kHz that coves almost every situation you may encounter. Ground balancing takes less than 3 seconds and is very easy. The Tarsacci MDT 800 uses a strong carbon fiber body for a very lightweight and durable design. It’s waterproof meeting the IP68 rating. All the settings are on one screen so you can tell at a glance how you have everything set. Setup is very easy and the Tarsacci has a very short learning curve; in my opinion.
I paid $1,760 + $35 shipping when I bought the Tarsacci in March of 2021. The Tarsacci is not a wireless detector, but I used the Garrett Z-Link ($171.00) with a custom cable ($30+) that makes it work flawlessly with almost any set of headphones. Also, I have an external amplified speaker that I used when making videos to make sure you could hear the detector. So you can see that I have right at $2,000 in this great machine.
I used this detector less than 20 times. I have a Playlist on my YouTube Channel (Saving Local History) that shows you every time I used the detector. Everything from unboxing, using it in hot ground on Civil War relic hunts and a few training videos.

The detector is in like-new condition; I always used it with a cover on the control box. I always take exceptional care of all my detectors.
So, why am I selling it?
If you know me or have watched any of my videos, you know that I love to learn new technology and try to pass on what I learn. Up until recently, I had 11 top-of-the-line metal detectors. Once I feel I’ve learned them, I like to pass them on to others so they can enjoy them as well; usually at a very reduced cost. Now that I’ve gotten older and have been having some health issues, I’ve decided to thin the herd down so to speak. The reason I wanted to try the Tarsacci MDT 8000 is to see how it performed in the hot red mineralized ground in parts of Virginia. I had recently bought a Minelab GPX 5000 for that purpose and wanted to see how the Tarsacci compared at less than half the price. I wasn’t disappointed. The Tarsacci is much lighter and much easier to configure than the GPX. For now, I’ve decided to keep the GPX 5000 and whittle down my other detector to only 3 or 4.
