If you are looking for a CTX 3030 in near perfect condition at a very good price, look no further. I bought this detector new on 9/13/2013. I know that seems like a long time ago, but here’s the story.
I’ve have owned almost every Minelab detector since the Explorer XS and I’ll have to say after you get used to the amazing technology, it’s hard to leave it. I won’t take up your time telling you about the technology, because if you’re looking seriously at this, you already know.
I started metal detecting in 1999 and did very well until I lost most of my hearing in 2005. During the time from my hearing lost to about mid-2013, I bought a lot of different types of high-end detectors trying to learn as much as I could. When I bought the first Minelab detector with the multi-frequency, after a little learning curve, I was hooked. I kept trading up as new Minelab detectors camp out until I got to the CTX 3030. It blew my mind at its ability. I hit the ground running with it, but I began to be plagued with some bad luck; mostly health related. I only used the CTX off and on for a little over a year. Since I was having shoulder trouble on top of other problems, I bought an XP Deus to try this new technology and because it was so light. It was and still is a great detector. Well, having so many detectors and not getting to detect that much somehow, I only got around to the CTX every now and then and still loved it. I kept a check on the battery and the charge on the WM10 Module and they still hold a charge like they did when I bought them as they really hadn’t been used that much.
I’ve gone through hearing loss, a heart ablation, injured back, torn rotator cuff, torn meniscus in both knees to name a few. Wednesday, I found out I had a detached retina in my right eye. Friday, I had surgery. Now, it doesn’t look like, outside of a miracle, that I’ll be detecting much for a while. So, I have decided to sell some of my detectors to not only simplify, but to gather some much-needed cash to help pay on this surgery. I’m not sure how much our insurance will pay, but I’m sure it won’t pay it all.
I have always used the coil covers and a housing cover so there are no scratches or scuffs anywhere other than the bottom of the coils covers (very little at that). I have never hunted in the water with it. All-in-all, I bet I never used it over a dozen times. This is truly a “closet queen” or more like a “shelf queen”. It’s been in my relic building where it has never been too cold or too hot and always in the detector bag protected.
Here’s what you’ll get:
DISCLAIMER: I’ve had to take these photos and type this basically with one eye, so forgive me if I missed something or made a typo or two.
Thanks for looking.
