This is my first attempt at writing a book, and my target audience was initially children and young readers, but since publication, I have received positive feedback from adults as well.
I chose a young Cherokee boy as the main subject of the book to help emphasize the oneness which is supposed to exist between human beings and our forest brethren. My goal was to get children more interested in nature and building a relationship with it. Keokee, the subject of the book, is a young Cherokee boy who has interactions with various animals during his play/adventures, and his father, Stonega, helps him understand how the Cherokee learn many lessons by studying and interacting with wildlife. Keokee befriends an Otter, Crow, and finds an orphaned wolf cub, and the three become his eyes, ears, and protector as he explores the mountains adjoining the Oconaluftee River adjoining the Great Smoky Mtns in what is now Western North Carolina. The Coronavirus has pretty much killed person to person advertising and interactions relating to book signings and book fairs for the last several months, so a big part of advertising depends on me finding different ways to spread the word. Thank you for your interest.
