    Appropriate last find for 2025.

I had to get out just one more time in 2025. I didn't feel so good, and it was cold, but I told myself I'd stop at my first find that wasn't trash. Well, how appropriate it was to be a quarter for the last find of 2025.

    XP Deus 1 HF coil

Yes. Mine showed all weird for the first 5-7 charges. I just let it run on the charger for most of the day, several days, and out of the blue, it started the proper 4-second blink, and all was good.

    XP Deus 1 HF coil

I put a new battery on my 9" HF1 coil when I first bought my Deus used. The lights never seemed to work right for 6-8 charges, then it went to normal, and now, over a year later works as it should. It always did hold a good charge at first; the lights just didn't act right.

    Ghost in the machine article

I run with no discrimination 90% of the time. The other 10% is when I know what I'm looking for. You hear hundreds of sounds at all times, but you have learned to concentrate more on the sounds that matter to you. You hear the birds chirping, but they are just a background noise until you...

    Ghost in the machine article

I have been a musician for over 60 years. This is why I have said, in my experience, that the Deus Full Tones has the most information about a target. I use both the Deus and Dues 2. I listen to the lower bands in the 60 MHz to 80 MHz range because that seems to be where the iron, ground, and...

    CTX 3030 compared to Manticore

Well, I don't know who this Mr Dankowski is, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to look at a detector's specs and have an idea what it can and can't do well. I'm not saying air tests are totally worthless, just close to it. They work great for learning tones and such, but to believe an air...

    CTX 3030 compared to Manticore

That is why I've always said these comparidon videos should start out with a viewer warning. It needs to explain that this video may or may not reflect your results. If I could hunt in Squirrel's backyard for items on styrofoam boxes. Then yes, these videos COULD show the results you might...

    Silver is Going Crazy!!

Loving it! I've sold the majority of my gold over the years, and a lot of my silver, but my silver restocks much faster than my gold. I think my silver collection is in the lbs currently. I'll be using the old E-Trac a lot more.

Kids dipping into Dad's coin collection.

Years ago, I found a mint 1957 wheat back in a tot lot. I knew it had to come from some kid who stole it from their Dad's coin collection. Well, I found my second evidence. a 1945 Buffalo Nickel. Now, why can't they get some of Dad's gold coins LOL? I clean this tot lot often. This is a fresh...

    CTX 3030 compared to Manticore

I've had them both. Yes, I do like the Maniticore weight and design, but that doesn't make a difference in finding coins. I felt the CTX was every bit as deep, if not a tad bit deeper, than the Manticore. It really depends on what you're looking for. I've had the best of the best, and when it...

    CTX 3030 compared to Manticore

I think most detectorists have figured out that staged air tests have little relevance to in-the-wild hunting. It is the reason we find "missed" coins in places we have searched for many years. Conditions change.

In the voice of James Earl Jones, in the first few decades of the third millennium

My main, currently, is the Deus 2 with the 9" coil. My backup is a Deus 1 with a 9" HF coil, and a Minelab E-Trac. I tried all the top favorites, the NOX 800, Ledegend, and Manticore, and found them all to be very good machines. Each has its own strengths and weaknesses. I went with the Deus 2...
